Starting by picking up the tour at a sociable 1349 from Warrington Bank Quay, this Compass tours charter featured 37401 and newly repainted 37670 in DB Schenker livery. With a storming run up the west coast main line we arrived in Carlisle at 1530, half an hour early and the total opposite to the tour yesterday!! We were not the only charter to be in Carlisle today as steam engine 46115 'Scots Guardsman' was also doing a tour from York. After our break we headed south via the s+c re-joining the WCML south of Preston for the run to Warrington. After departure we headed for the North Wales coast and onto old stomping ground for the class. We arrived on time in Holyhead at 0013 in drizzle, but a trip down memory lane was had, and so over to road for the nights lodge, good tour Compass, more like that please!!
